WB to support Uzbek green energy exports to EU

The Bank is also involved in energy projects in Central Asia

The World Bank (WB) is ready to support the export of green energy from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan to the countries of the European Union, Trend.az reports with reference to Dmitry Petrin, the coordinator of the financial institution's projects in Central Asia.

"We are actively involved in projects throughout Central Asia, including the creation of a regional energy trading market," Petrin added.

Petrin emphasized that the World Bank is ready to conduct an economic assessment of the project to export electricity to the EU if official requests are received from participating countries.

Earlier, Kursiv Uzbekistan wrote that by 2030, Uzbekistan plans to increase the share of renewable energy sources in the total generation volume to 54%.
